On June 1, 2020, Las Vegas Strip hotel workers at 18 casinos could go on strike. The workers are represented by Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165, and are demanding hazard pay, better protection from the coronavirus, and other promises regarding health care and job security. The casinos that could go on strike are owned by Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, and Treasure Island. Other contracts with Station Casinos and Boyd Gaming have also gone unresolved. The unions said that if a resolution to the dispute is not met, up to 50,000 workers are prepared to go on strike. Negotiations are still ongoing, so it is unclear if or when a strike could occur.
