The whistleblower expressed outrage after the House of Representatives voted to approve a $302 million project to construct a new headquarters for the US Office of Special Counsel, the primary agency responsible for protecting government whistleblowers such as himself. He referred to the GOP members of the House as “soulless demons” that had “turn[ed] a blind eye” to the agency’s true needs. The whistleblower noted that the agency was facing widespread attrition and desperately needed additional resources such as staffing, training, and equipment—not a new headquarters. He accused the GOP of caring more about their “pet projects” than protecting the rights of government employees.
