IHOP announced that it has rolled out a new menu across its U.S. locations, featuring biscuits and gravy. The move comes as the chain battles slowing sales, the result of a shift in preferences among customers. The company said the new menu was designed to appeal to customers looking for more traditional, comfort-style food. The menu includes breakfast sandwiches made with biscuits that have been topped with eggs, bacon and cheese, as well as a signature biscuit breakfast platter with eggs, gravy, bacon and sausage links. The biscuit-based items are available all day.
The move follows other recent initiatives by IHOP to expand its menu and boost sales, including adding craft beers on tap and teaming up with popular food and beverage companies to launch limited-edition menu items.
IHOP said the nationwide rollout of its biscuit menu is an effort to “help franchisees build traffic and average ticket sales, and bring value to guests nationwide.” The company hopes that the new menu items will help make the chain a more competitive destination for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
