According to a survey by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), 80.2 percent of the 2,543 South Korean respondents believe that crypto assets are akin to gambling. The survey found that of the participants, around 29.8 percent had previously invested in digital assets, and as much as 20.5 percent were approached by unsolicited trading offers. However, the same survey revealed that approximately 50 percent of the respondents expressed a desire to invest in the crypto markets, showing that their sentiment towards the industry was changing. The survey also found that people between the ages of 20 to 40 were more likely to invest in cryptocurrencies, while those in their late 40s and 50s were more likely to be spooked by the asset’s volatile nature. Although these figures indicate a high percentage of people are wary of cryptocurrencies, the interest in the digital asset industry has increased since the survey was conducted in April 2018.
