At the Group of 20 summit in Osaka, Japan, U.S. President Joe Biden announced plans for an ambitious collaboration between India and Europe to better connect those two regions. The proposed new corridor, called the India-Europe Connectivity Initiative, will strengthen the transportation, energy, and communication networks linking the two regions. Under this initiative, the U.S., India, and Europe will work together to develop and implement projects in areas including digital infrastructure, transportation, renewable energy, and trade. The initiative also calls for stronger cooperation in international organizations like the World Bank, IMF, and G-20 to facilitate and finance large-scale connectivity projects. The initiative is seen as a way for the U.S. to better support India’s growth and development and to encourage the wishes of the Indian people. India will benefit from increased economic integration with Europe, which could open up new job opportunities and create a larger market for Indian businesses. Moreover, the initiative is ultimately expected to benefit the global economy.
