There are no reports that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered investigators in the Hunter Biden Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) probe to “remove any reference” to Joe Biden. The allegation was made in a recent letter released by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) and stems from newly-discovered emails that they believe show that the Attorney General’s office directed the probe to downplay any ties to Joe Biden.
The DOJ, however, has denied the claims in the letter, stating that the emails were taken out of context and that the department never directed investigators to “remove any reference” to Joe Biden in the application for the FARA warrant. The DOJ further stated that the emails cited by Reps. Jordan and Johnson were “related to routine step taken [sic] to ensure that the government’s cases are not impacted by unnecessary legal issues that could delay or impede the investigation.”
At the time of writing, there is no proof to substantiate the allegation that the DOJ requested that investigators remove any reference to Joe Biden in the FARA probe warrant.
