The SEC has charged Cash Flow King podcaster Joseph Meli and his partner Matthew Mark in an $11 million Ponzi scheme. Meli was a popular podcaster whose show focused on financial topics such as investing and money management. According to the SEC, Meli and Mark promised investors returns from advance ticket sales for concerts and shows. However, instead of buying tickets, they simply took their investor’s funds and used them to pay off other investors and for other personal expenses. They also created false documents to convince investors that their investments were performing. The SEC is seeking to have Meli and Mark ordered to pay back the money they took from investors as well as other fines and sanctions.
