The home of Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz in Weston, Florida was vandalized in late July 2020 with a message calling for a cease-fire in Gaza. The message was spray-painted on her front gate in bright red paint and said, “Peace for Gaza sign the cease-fire now.” It is not known who is responsible for the vandalism.
The congresswoman has been vocal in her support for a cease-fire and has spoken out against the violence in Gaza. In a tweet following the incident, she called for an end to the violence and for peace in the region. She also thanked local law enforcement for their immediate response to the vandalism and for their continued efforts to keep her and her family safe.
Local police are currently investigating the incident and have not yet released any details. It is unclear if they have identified any suspects or established a motive for the vandalism.
