over coronavirus testing
The U.S. House of Representatives has not taken disciplinary action against New York Democrat Jamaal Bowman for pulling a fire alarm in the Capitol lobby earlier this year. Bowman said he pulled the alarm in an effort to draw attention to the need for more coronavirus testing. The incident occurred in March 2020 and the lawmaker’s staff later said that Bowman went ahead with the stunt after being denied a meeting with a top official in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While colleagues in the House have spoken out against the behavior, it is unclear if any disciplinary action will be taken.
