The latest Fox News Poll shows that American voters are largely divided over what the U.S. should do when it comes to getting involved in foreign conflicts. A slight majority (51 percent) said the U.S. should take a stance on conflicts in other countries, while 43 percent said it should stay out of them.
When broken down by political affiliation, the results showed that most Democrats (67 percent) said the U.S. should take a stance on foreign conflicts, while only 36 percent of Republicans agreed. Independents were more divided, with 46 percent taking a stance and 49 percent saying the U.S. should stay out.
When asked what the U.S. should do in order to “defend our interests” abroad, respondents were also divided. Thirty-five percent said it should work with other countries’ leaders, 28 percent said it should provide economic aid, 21 percent said it should use military force, and 16 percent said it should keep out of conflicts altogether.
Overall, the poll results reflect the wide range of opinions on foreign policy among American voters. There is no clear consensus when it comes to what the country should do when it comes to international conflicts, which highlight the deep divisions that still exist about these issues.
