The United States Senate confirmed Martin O’Malley as the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration on August 10, 2017. O’Malley was nominated by President Donald Trump on June 27th, 2017 and confirmed with a voice vote by the Senate. O’Malley was chosen in part because of his experience and dedication to serving those most vulnerable throughout his time as Governor of Maryland. O’Malley previously worked at the Social Security Administration as a staff attorney in the Baltimore Regional Office.
