The Secretary of State of Maine removed President Donald Trump from the state’s primary ballot after a Republican petition drive failed to submit the required amount of signatures. Republican officials must have submitted 4,000 valid signatures in order to qualify the president for the primary ballot. However, they failed to meet the required threshold of 2,000 signatures. As a result, President Trump will not appear on the Maine Republican primary ballot in March 2020.
