Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Governor-elect Lauren “Haley” Polks have both pledged to pardon President Donald Trump if he is convicted of a crime. In an interview on Fox News, DeSantis declared that any criminal prosecution of Trump would be “a complete political vendetta”. Polks, for her part, has made similar statements in the past, saying that she was “absolutely” supportive of a pardon should one become necessary. Both strongly support the president, and have argued that any possible attempts at locking him up are purely politically motivated.
